"I wanted to create a lab writeup  application that students and researchers could use to write up their  psychology research reports and dissertations. For students, I wanted an application they could use to increase their coursework grades by writing reports that are correctly formatted and where each section of the report does what it is supposed to do. For researchers, I wanted software they could use to simplify the process of writing up research they submit to journals that require the APA format. For teachers and tutors, I wanted a teaching application they could use in class to teach students how to write good research reports and dissertations, as well as issues of research design and statistics. Finally, I wanted the application to be especially useful for psychology students but general enough to be used by students in other disciplines. LabWriteUp is the outcome of all of these aims."
